Why Dual Enrollment

Why Should You Take Dual Enrollment?

Dual Enrollment is a great option for students for many reasons:

1. Builds confidence in their ability to complete a college level class

2. GPA boost on UC and CSU college applications

3. Receive high school elective credit (if needed)

4. Receive college credit (all college classes become part of your permanent college transcript)

What Classes Should I Take?

What Classes Should You Take?

There are a few options that we recommend:

1. General Education

Taking classes that fulfill the college level general education requirements is a great place to start. This will put you ahead when you enter into your first year of college. We recommend you take general education courses from the IGETC approved courses.

IGETC is a series of courses that prospective transfer students from California Community Colleges may use to satisfy the lower-division/general education breadth requirements at both the California State University and the University of California.

2. Enrichment Activities

Take classes that are not offered at PHS that will expand your knowledge of different activities (example: Kick Boxing!).

3. Career Exploration

Take a class that is not offered at PHS that will help you learn about a particular career path you are interested in.
