Post 457
Text Box: Law Enforcement Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age, or are 15 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Explorer Post 457 help youths to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities.

For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities.  Explorers work in the community to provide, traffic control, parking, crime prevention, internet safety and a variety of other services.

Explorers receive much of the same training that Deputy Sheriff’s do.  Such as crime-scene searches, crime prevention, burglary, accident scene, traffic stops etc.  Explorers gain hands on training by going on Ride-A-longs with deputies, receive firearms training, and compete in completions with other Explorer Posts.

Post 457 has its meetings every other Wednesday at 6:30pm.  The meetings will be held at the Sheriff's Office Training Room.
The result of the Sheriff’s Office program of activities is to help youths pursue, grow and develop their special interest in Law Enforcement.
