Ponderosa Economics Teacher, Mr. Shank,
Earns California Council on Economics Education Award!

Brian Shank, Ponderosa High School Economics teacher, was chosen to receive a prestigious award from the California Council on Economics Education.  The CCEE is a non-profit , non-partisan consortium of education, business, political and labor leaders dedicated to advancing economic literacy throughout California   Mr. Shank was selected as the recipient of the California Council on Economic Education’s Adam’s  Apple Award for providing outstanding service to our state’s economics students. Jack O’Connell, State Superintendent of Public Instruction noted in his certificate of recognition,   “As the importance of economic education becomes more apparent, I commend your exceptional efforts to help our young people compete successfully in the global economy.”  Mr. Shank’s accomplishments are excellent examples of the remarkable work being undertaken by dedicated teachers.
