Health Preview Nights will be held in the Library at each district high school.
Recommended for Parents of 9th grade Health Education students

Questions may be directed to the Health teachers at your respective school site.

New District Phone System
The District is in the process of installing a new phone system districtwide.  The main phone numbers for all district sites remain the same; however, the phone extensions have changed, as follows:

All District Office and Independence High School phone extensions have been changed from a 3-digit to a 4-digit extension.  The number 7 now precedes the existing extension number. For example, extension 200 is now 7200. 

Oak Ridge High School:  The number "3" now replaces the number "1" in the 4-digit phone extension for Oak Ridge High School staff.  For example, extension 1010 is now 3010.

Other schools sites are in the process of having their phone systems upgraded.  We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience in reaching your party during this transition.

Independence High School has received a 3-year distinction from the California Department of Education as a Model Continuation High School.
 
Shenandoah High School has achieved the California Charter Schools Association Certified Charter School recognition.
 
All four comprehensive high schools -- El Dorado, Oak Ridge, Ponderosa, and Union Mine --  each achieved recognition as a California Distinguished School.
 
Oak Ridge and Ponderosa High Schools have been recognized by the California Business for Education Excellence Foundation for their outstanding success in raising student academic achievement.

Oak Ridge has also been named a 2008-09 national Blue Ribbon School.
